Music in the soul can be heard by the universe-1

Don’t we all want more balance? It is often said that our homes and where we are work are a reflection of our inner state. So we all feel better in a space that makes you feel happier and calmer. Lighting a candle or adding a vase of flowers can bring about a sense of transformation. So not only do you feel good, but you are nourishing the brain which is vital to creating & sustaining good health. So, pay attention to your environment. How are you surrounding your space? You’ll feel how to bring your inner and outer spaces in greater harmony order to cultivate greater harmony in your life.

In many healing traditions, it’s said that the perfect medicine for us is often blooming right outside our front doors. Every day, nature offers us its healing bounty. With that in mind, we can begin to explore ways to create balance in our lives using simple things already available in in our environment to bring us comfort and ease.

If you think about it, we’re already attracted to certain experience that makes us happy. For instance, we may have certain scents we prefer more than others. Every time you go to a candle or aromatherapy shop you may be drawn to a particular scent that creates calming and joy. For others it may be music that does the trick: jazz, rock or hip-hop.

As we learned during tour exploration of doshas, we are each unique and we each respond to a different palette of environmental offerings (scents, spices, music, paintings), which can bring peace and comfort to us throughout our day. Living & working in such a nurturing environment, nourishes the brain…which in turn takes care of us so that we may better take care of our bodies.  A positive outer environment plays an important role in a positive lifestyle allowing us to make choices that are easy, natural and enjoyable. This fosters the best inner environment for the brain, which processes every experience we have and must function well for the mind to make its best intentions known. It’s important then to be good to ourselves and create an environment that brings us peace, joy and ever closer to perfect health. It’s not selfish to want a happy, harmonious life. It’s a birthright and the optimal foundation for physical, mental & spiritual wellbeing. Let’s prepare for our meditation and consider our centering thought:  My outer world reflects my inner world.

Now let’s prepare for our meditation. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Begin to be aware of your breath and just breathe…slowly and deeply. With each breath, allow yourself to become more at peace. Now gently introduce the mantra, Sat Chit Ananda, which means Existence Consciousness Bliss.

meditate

{Meditate for 10-15+ minutes} Whenever you feel yourself distracted by thoughts noises or sensations, simply silently repeat the mantra: Sat Chit Ananda. Sat Chit Ananda.

Please stop repeating the mantra. Inhale and exhale slowly. Allow some time to rest. When you feel ready, you may open your eyes. As you continue with your day, contemplate the centering thought: My outer world reflects my inner world. My outer world reflects my inner world. My outer world reflects my inner world. Namaste…

MINDFUL MOMENT: Take some time to examine your environment and consider those things you’d like to change. Perhaps it’s time to sweep away some clutter, add fresh flowers, turn on some soothing music, or light a stick of incense. Remind yourself that your outer world is a reflection of your inner world and invite those elements into your environment that truly make you feel good inside.
